Curriculum Advantage Launches Beta Testing For Classworks Web Edition

DULUTH, GA - Feb 10, 2009 - Curriculum Advantage™ Inc. today announces the launch of beta testing for the latest version of the award-winning Classworks™ instructional software for grades K-12 — Classworks Web Edition. Classworks provides individualized instruction in math, reading, language arts and science to accelerate learning for mainstream students, bring at-risk students to grade level proficiency, and help English learners build fluency.

Sixteen schools will pilot the new Classworks Web Edition, which features significant content and management system enhancements. The enhancements, which are based on extensive input from Classworks customers, will provide educators with greater flexibility in the way they individualize and manage instruction, and assess and report on student performance. Beta testing will begin in February and run through the end of April.

Ocoee Middle School, which began using Classworks in 2001, will be one of the beta test sites. Located in Ocoee, Fla., the school is a technology demonstration school for the state of Florida. “We enjoy trying new technologies to see what will engage students and help other schools make the most of their limited resources,” said Principal Sharyn Gabriel.

Ocoee Middle School is looking forward to using several new features in Classworks Web Edition, including the web-based management system and expanded search capabilities. “Giving teachers the ability to plan instruction, assess and monitor student progress anytime, anywhere is a big advantage,” said Gabriel. “Plus, the new search engine will expand our ability to individualize instruction in the learning style that’s best for each student. We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with Curriculum Advantage and to provide our feedback to help enhance Classworks. Anything we can do to make it easier to tailor instruction for students is well worth it.”

“The Classworks Web Edition brings an innovative, cost-effective curriculum solution to schools at a time when they need it most,” said Melissa Sinunu, chief operations officer for Curriculum Advantage. “Teachers, in particular, will be very interested in the web-based management system and expanded search engine, which will improve their capacity to deliver relevant content to every child. Plus, the Web Edition will extend schools’ return on investment by providing more instructional activities for students in multiple teaching modalities, added flexibility for teachers in delivering and managing instruction, and reduced hardware and maintenance requirements.”
